cares team

UT Medical Center is proud to offer the CARES program through the Women & Infants Center of Excellence.

The goal of the CARES Team is to foster a safe, respectful, and nurturing space that empowers you and your child(ren) to heal from past challenges, build resilience, and move toward lasting recovery.

While enrolled in our CARES program, you will be assigned to a compassionate and experienced treatment team. This team will work closely with you to:

  • Assess your needs. After assessing your unique medical, mental health, and social needs, our team will work with you to create a plan special to you.

  • Help manage your treatment. You will have the option to receive medicine to support your recovery. This medicine will be closely monitored by a medical provider.

  • Connect you to community resources. A case manager will help you access community resources, housing, parenting support, and other services.

  • Follow-up for your baby. The Bloom Clinic is a developmental follow-up clinic where a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner will work with your pediatrician to evaluate your baby’s physical growth and developmental skills and help you and your family get connected to
any resources needed to help your baby succeed. This clinic is free,
and your baby can come until they are 5 years old.
